What is BEST?
BEST helps you track things that you want to do your best in on a daily basis. Beyond tracking improvement and helping you do a little better, it may also help you figure out what your best looks like.
How does the app work?
The prompt on the main screen "DID I DO MY BEST TO" encourages you to track items you want to do your best in, such as "BE KIND", "BE PRESENT", "STAY FIT". You can give yourself a score and optionally write some notes for each item, ideally on a daily basis. Scores and notes are uploaded to the cloud immediately, but you can change them as many times as you want on the same day. On the next day, scores and notes reset and you can repeat the process. The history of scores and notes for each day is saved on the cloud and you can review them on the History screen.
How can I ask others to help me do my best?
From the main screen, swipe right to land on the left screen titled "HELPING YOU". On this screen, you can add helpers by entering their email address. If they don't have an account yet, they will receive an email invite to download the app. If they already have an account, they will receive in in-app invite to help you which they can accept or reject on their "HELPING OTHERS" screen, found to the right side of the main screen, which they can access by swiping left on the main screen. Once they accept, you can assign a subset of your tracked items to them. They will have the opportunity to leave notes on a daily basis on the items you selected for them.
Why can't my helpers give me a score?
We believe that only you can evaluate whether you've given your best. The notes from others are merely there to help you reflect on what your best looks like.
Can I pro-actively ask to help another user?
Not within the app. We believe that people who are tracking their best should be able to decide whether they need help or not.
Can I see the history of notes that others have given me, or I have given to others?
You can see notes from others for 24 hours. Notes you write for others are visible and can be edited only on the present day, same as your personal notes. However, all notes you receive from and give to others are stored on the cloud. A future version of the app may enable you to review previous notes. Having said that, we believe that these notes should only assist you to reflect on your best on the day they are written. It may not be helpful to put too much emphasis on past notes.
Who can see my private data?
The names of items you track and notes you write for yourself are encrypted by your unique private key. Item names you send to others, their notes and notes you give to others are end-to-end encrypted. Only you and the user you have chosen to share information with are able to decrypt the information using your respective private keys. This means that no one at Apple, Google Cloud, or Renumia is able to decrypt your text information.
Can I use BEST on multiple devices with the same account?
Yes. Changes that you make on one device will synchronize in real-time to your other devices.
What happens once my access timer expires?
You will still have access to all the features of the app. Once per day, you will see a popup reminding you to extend the access timer.
How do I reset my password?
You can reset your password after one failed login attempt by clicking "RESET PASSWORD" on the login screen.
